Book Review: Sam, Sebbie and Di-Di-Di At the Night Safari

Have you been to the Singapore's Night Safari? We have yet to be there. However, we suspect the nocturnal creatures would be more awake during the night than day. Did you realised they are sleeping especially on a hot afternoon?

We are glad Epigram Books sent us the book "At the Night Safari", one of the Sam , Sebbie and Di-Di-Di series. We get a slight insight of how animals were behaving. The book narrates mostly in rhymes and it is perfect for little one to learn. We also love the part of the story whereby the 3 siblings' plan to move a sleepy giraffe out of the tram's way. It is a good plan to teach children about politeness and good manners. My little one couldn't help but pick up the book a couple of times to read as a bedtime story.

A local author, David Seow, wrote this story based on inspiration from his niece and 2 nephews. The book was first published in 1999 by The Educational Publishing House.

This new edition, "At the Night Safari" , published by Epigram Books is being illustrated by Soefara Jafney. The pictures are lively and colourful. We simply love them, even the lions look cute in her illustration.
