Book of the month: The little girl who lost Her Name
Little One recently develop a like for certain books for bedtime story. This book, The little girl who lost Her Name, was her favorite bedtime story last month.
We have a white bedside chest of drawers near our bed. In one of the drawers, I would filled it up with books so that Little One would pick a book for bedtime stories. I would try to change the stories every month so that she would be exposed to a new set of books each month. Usually, I would encourage her to get a book from here unless her library books are due. (Library books are not allowed in this drawer to save the hassle of hunting down the books when they are due. I would keep them in a allocated space)
S gave Little One this book last year. I still remember the first time I read to her this book. Her eyes lighted up when the book spelled her name at the end of the story. She must have been amused to find herself to be the lead of the story.
The story starts with a little girl who woke up in morning to find her name missing from her door! It was bad because she could not recall her name. Despite that, she decided to set out for an adventure to find out her name. On the way, she meets lots of different wonderful, weird and kind characters. She then finds each letter of her name and finally able to form her name!
Little One has been asking me to read this to her as it forms her name. I guess it is this special personalised touch that she adores. This book is good for learning to spell her own name.
Thank you S for this special personalised book!
